"To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." --E.E. Cummings
It’s time to step up, break free and look for a fresh start. Just when you thought there was no one out there, Oogachaga presents FREEDOM, a safe and closed support group for Transgender in Singapore.
Join us for support and psycho-education surrounding issues for gender, such as gender identity, gender presentation, and understanding friends and family. This group provides a positive and supportive environment for people to explore their own evolution, as well as, meet new friends.
FREEDOM is aimed at individuals early in their transition to help coping with the physical changes while maintaining their emotional and overall wellbeing. The group will run weekly over a span of two months in two separate groups, one for women (Male to Females) and the other for men (Female to Males).
However, OCTrans acknowledges that gender is fluid and that feelings and expression of gender may or may not change over time, and so in this group there is no expectation or requirement to ‘decide’ upon your gender identity, adopt a particular label, or to act, behave or dress in any particular way to express this gender.
Particpants are encouraged to explore their gender in their own time and express this in ways that they are comfortable in doing so.
The facilitators and volunteers who support OCTrans are Transgender or Gender Queer people themselves, or have extensive experience and knowledge of transgender experiences.
